trust in the universe, things go wrong for a reason!

As some of you know we hold our Kitchen Witch off line rituals at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park in the bottom field.

Yesterday evening I got a very apologetic email to say that there had been a double booking and we couldn't have the usual bottom field (beginning of the BBQ season!).  However they would find somewhere else within the park for us to use.  Now I have to admit I was a bit grumpy about this, but my lovely sisters in the Craft assured me that it was all happening for a good reason and not to fret.

But fret I did, it's in my nature when things don't go to plan!

However...this afternoon after a few 'lost in the woods' moments, everyone found our temporary site within the park and we had an amazing ritual (a huge thank you to everyone for persevering to find us).  I am extremely pleased to say we have met such lovely people :-)

And...the park suggested a new site for us to use, one that we could always use without fear of being double booked...and I take my top hat and my pointy hat off to my lovely sisters, I should have heeded their words because the new site is perfect, even more perfect than the original one.  Our new site has an amazing view across the valley, loads of space, and not one but two groves of trees, one of the groves being made of yew trees - amazing!

So thank you universe for reminding me to trust in you, even if things seem to go pear shaped for a brief moment...it is all for a purpose.

getting my Bollywood on...

Last night I attended a meditation evening at the Portsmouth School of Psychic Development run by Paul Cissell.

Had a fabulous evening, really relaxing atmosphere with some amazing music in the background and wonderful guided meditations.  I work much better with guided meditations, if I am left to my own devices the mind monkeys attack ;-)

We did several meditations and with each one, no matter what the scenery or setting I found myself wearing full Indian dress, beautiful sari complete with lots of gold bangles, huge earrings and a bindi on my forehead and throughout each meditation I danced Bollywood styley...all the way...through each one...non stop!

Hindu deity have been making themselves known to me for a while now, I believe last night was a big poke in the ribs to actually get on and do something with it!

Last night also left me with the reminder that the Universe usually knows best and it pays to listen to it, so today whilst I do have a huge 'to do' list I am not making any specific plans, I am going to go with the flow and let the day pan out as the Universe wishes it to...so let's see what happens...

Faffing, cake (always cake) and crystal grids

So this morning I woke up in a very indecisive mood, possibly a bit tired too (too many late nights and too many ultra busy days!).

I faffed about for a bit, got a few small jobs done, emails answered that kind of thing...then I decided what to cook for dinner (yes my mind usually wanders to food) needed a couple of bits so took a walk in the windy but sunny weather up to the shop, which just happens to be a couple of doors away from Chi Coffee so I popped in for a takeaway latte and cake (lemon & blueberry).

Meandered back home and decided to consume my cake and coffee in the conservatory, the sun was shining and it was beautifully warm in there.  Whilst sitting reading and eating I decided to make a crystal grid, so out came the boxes of crystals and I was guided by my intuition on what crystals I needed and where to put them...some time later, crystals all charged and grid made I sat down and played some singing bowl music and drifted off into meditation...a while later I came back to reality and realised it was just what I had needed (thank you Goddess for guiding me).

On reflection I have been ultra busy in the last few weeks, super ultra busy in actual fact, lots to do, lots on my mind, loads of ideas whizzing round, lots of planning under way...but I hadn't given myself time to breathe, time to just 'be' which is bad, because from experience I know that if I ignore the warning signs that the universe will arrange something to smack me around the head (sometimes literally).

Reminder to self: It is OK to take time off occasionally, in fact it is a MUST to keep you sane (well OK fairly sane) and balanced, emotionally, mentally and physically.  The 'to do' list will still be there and the world will  not end just because you took a few hours off...

Multi coloured energy field and cake of course!

In the past couple of months I have had three people on separate occasions remark about my personal energy field (in a good way...I think!).

All three situations were different, in the first I was sitting quietly reading in a café (yes it was Chi Coffee LOL), the second time was in a reading and the third was during our Kitchen Witch Chakra Workshop at the weekend.

All three people said pretty much the same thing - my energy field is very strong and full of multi colours :-)

Because we had the chakra workshop on Sunday it made me think more about it, I LOVE that my energy field is so colourful, it is a part of what makes me ...well me!  As we had been working on and talking about chakras I realised that my energy field is at it's strongest and most colourful when I am in a 'centred and balanced' state.  Yay for balanced chakras! (thank you to Raven for balancing them on a regular basis for me...because I forget...).  Towards the end of the day on Sunday I felt my own energy lowering and it was noticed by another person that my field had muted, because of all the work we had done in the day and all the energy that was practically whizzing around the room, it affected my energy centres.

Although I have studied chakras and auras and worked with them both, it is only when someone points it out that I make the connection and have the confirmation that I am doing things right...well most of the time LOL

It was of course also suggested that my chakras are actually fuelled by cake...

Cosmic boomerangs...

I am waxing philosophical this morning...

What makes you have a good or bad day/week/month/year?

Now I know the moon is powerful, she controls the oceans so she must be!

I do know that the moon phases affect how I feel...this past week has been a bit blah but then today is a New Moon so that explains a lot, hopefully from today my little world will be filled with new enthusiasm and gumption :-)

But what else affects our lives?  I am no astrologer but I betcha that my astrologer friends would say "you have had a bad week because Mercury has gone retrograde" or some other planet whizzing around in the wrong direction ;-)

It is all powerful stuff, it's a big ole universe with a lot of pull...

But we can't always blame the planets.  I am a great believer that we control our own destinies in the main part.  It's no good moaning about the state of your life or relationships if you never move of the sofa to do anything about it.   If you dream of being rich and famous but only ever venture out to Tesco you probably aren't very likely to meet an influential film producer.  OK that's a bit of a big one but you know what I mean.

I get asked a lot "do you know a spell to get me a new/better job" or a spell "for a new love interest" and my answer is usually along the lines of - yes you can work spells for these things but ultimately you have to back it up with making an effort out in the real world.  A new job is very unlikely to land in your lap without you actually going to the job centre and/or sending off CV's to people.

If you want things to happen, if you want your life to change...you gotta get out there and make it happen.

Everything that is worthwhile in life takes at least a bit of effort.

2012 was a pretty good year for me personally, but not so much for one or two of my close friends, what makes that so?  I don't have an answer ...sorry!   But I do believe that all the difficult situations and issues that the universe chooses to throw our way are all for a reason, each one has a lesson with it, sometimes it isn't easy to work out what the lesson is and if we don't, it will come back to smack us in the face again until we have understood and learnt it.  Believe me I have had my fair share of those!

The universe chose to send us a challenge as a nation this week...the passing of Maggie Thatcher caused HUGE amounts of emotional facebook statuses, pretty much all of them were 'dancing on her grave' type ones, which was disappointing.  As a country we are pretty good at standing together, whether it be during wartime (personally I don't remember the I or II WW but from what I know about it we did) we came together as a people, as one, to help and support each other.  On a smaller scale but no less important level we came together last year for the Olympics, we were proud to be British.  This week I have been ashamed.  Whether you agreed or disagreed with Thatcher's policies, she was a ground breaking woman.  I was only a teenager at the time but enough people must have agreed with her to have kept her in power for so long.  Has there ever been a politician that everyone has loved, one that every single person has agreed with all of their policies?...not as far as I know.  Each politician will have good policies and bad policies, no one is perfect!

This week as a nation we could have acted with dignity...we failed miserably.   At the end of the day she was a woman, a mother, a wife, part of a family - those people will be mourning her passing...what have we done for those close to her?  Have we treated them with respect?  I think not...

I do believe that we are responsible for what we put out there...whether it be thoughts, words or actions they represent who and what we are as a person and it will come back...usually much stronger than when it was sent out, as it gathers momentum winging around the universe like a cosmic boomerang until it lands back at our feet - do you feel safe in the knowledge that it will land back at your feet safely or will it come shooting back round and smack you in the back of the head? ;-)

What goes bump in the night?

I went along to a paranormal evening last night at the Portsmouth School Of Psychic Development what an amazing time!

We connected with spirit via glass work and pendulum and tapped into the energies of the earth/land that the building is situated on - with extremely interesting results.  We 'met' some very interesting characters and found out a lot of history about the site.

My spirit connection skills were a bit rusty but working with others helped me to 'find my feet' again and we seemed to bounce of off each other to make the connections.

We were guided through the whole evening and experienced people were on hand the whole time.

Added in was the fact that I met some lovely new people and also had a lot of laughs too.

The School runs lots of workshops and events, keep you eye on their facebook page for more details of upcoming events...you might even see a familiar name there...;-)

teaching, learning and patience...;-)

I've had a psychic medium reading and a professional tarot reading lately and in my own meditations everything is leading me in the same direction...teaching...and that is very exciting.

Obviously I am already doing that with the Kitchen Witch School and with the Coven, my books and now with new workshops we will be running - all very exciting.

And with our lovely students at the school I also find that I learn with them, they learn from us and we in turn learn from them.

But in all honesty I am a bit of a certificate tart and a definite book witch, I love to study and learn about new things...but when you have been doing 'it' for as long as I have you sometimes hit a bit of a block as to what to learn next...there will be something as we are always learning...I am just suffering from my impatience waiting to find out what that 'next thing' will be for me!

I have three books out this year, one already, two more to go...and a couple of ideas for new ones...but even they are just lurking rather than crawling out to be written.

I've been through all my many, many books but nothing has leapt out at me, I have trawled the net looking for new courses...nothing inspires me...yet...so universe I am ready when you are!!
